Divine Metal & Alloys Marine grade or also referred to as a4 threaded rod is synonymous with alloy 316. Austenitic grade 316 Stainless Steel Threaded Rod is particularly well suited for use in those applications where grade 304 will fail.
This is because an A4 Stainless Steel Threaded Bar is well equipped to deal with stressors such as elevated temperature, resistance to oxidation etc as compared to grade 304. The addition of molybdenum in 316 stainless steel metric threaded rod is what improves the resistance of the alloy to general corrosion. Molybdenum added to the alloy of 3/4 316 stainless steel threaded rod improves its resistance to chloride pitting. Whereas both chromium and Molybdenum in combination with nickel gives 316 Stainless Steel Threaded Studs its much required higher creep strength and stress to rupture strength as well as increased tensile strength at elevated temperatures.
